CONSERVATIVE LEADERS RESPOND TO LAST WEEK'S POLITICAL MANEUVERING BY DEMOCRATS ON SAME-SEX "MARRIAGE"
While members of the Pro-Family Coalition acknowledge last week's pro-family victory to ban same-sex marriage in the state of Washington, they had strong words for what they describe as the "hypocrisy" of liberal Democrats bound and determined to cut political losses by keeping HB 1130 off the November ballot.
Bob Larimer, state director of Washington for Traditional Values, and spokesman for the committee defeating I-677 stated, "For all practical purposes, the Democrats admitted they did not want the voters to be made aware of their true colors on the single most important issue facing our state and nation in generations. We say that any politician who would run from any issue that would strengthen the traditional family does not deserve to be re-elected!"
Cathy Mickels, state president of Eagle Forum, stated unequivocally that "Unlike the hypocritical politics of the Democratic leadership, true statesmen would never betray truly important principle for political expediency as they did. It was amazing to watch Democrats from the Governor on down who were willing to sell out personal beliefs and principal for their own selfish political gains."
Both Mickels and Larimer stated, "Democrats showed the citizens of this state that when they are between a rock and a hard place, they can't be trusted to adhere to even their own principles."
The Pro-Family Coalition vows to continue carrying their message of "Principle Before Politics" to the citizens of Washington state.
