Hormel Nomination for Ambassador to Luxembourg
Hormel Nomination.
The nomination of homosexual activist James Hormel, President Clinton’s choice to become the next Ambassador to Luxembourg, is becoming a more prominent issue with the public advocacy of homosexual organizations. Even usually conservative senators are speaking out in favor of Hormel’s nomination. Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) has been actively endorsing the Hormel nomination. Several liberal senators are making floor speeches and pressuring the Senate leadership to bring the nomination to a vote. In addition to campaigning for same-sex marriage, Hormel advocates overturning the military’s ban on open homosexuality, and contributed to the funding of a video entitled "It’s Elementary" which teaches elementary school age children that homosexual activity is a positive lifestyle. Hormel funds the San Francisco-based Hormel Library, which contains pornographic pictures and stories, as well as material linked to the North-American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). HORMEL ON BACK BURNER
The nomination of meat-packing heir James Hormel as U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg has stalled in the Senate, after pro-family groups like the Family Research Council pointed out his history of radical homosexual activism, including efforts to push homosexuality in schools. The Washington Times reported February 12 that the Senate leadership has "no intention" of bringing Hormel's nomination to the floor for approval, despite pressure from within the Republican Party to approve him. Senators Gordon Smith (R-Oregon) and Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) were both on record supporting Hormel. - SAS [From CultureFacts, 2/18/98, an E-mail update from FRC]
Hormel Nomination.
Hormel Nomination: A vote is still pending in the Senate on the nomination of James C. Hormel, President Clinton's nominee for Ambassador to Luxembourg. Hormel is a longtime outspoken homosexual activist. In addition to campaigning for same-sex marriage, Hormel has also campaigned to allow open homosexuals to serve in the military, and contributed to the funding of a video entitled "It's Elementary" which teaches elementary school age children that homosexual activity is a "positive" lifestyle. Hormel has also made disparaging comments about the Catholic Church. In meetings with senators who raised concerns about his radical pro-homosexual agenda, Hormel refused to back down on any of his positions. Some residents of Luxembourg, upon hearing of Hormel's background, are now starting to ask for defeat of his nomination. Please call your Senators and urge them to vote against Hormel's confirmation.
