LEGISLATURE TAKES ACTION
UW PROMOTION OF HOMOSEXUALITY CONFRONTED
by Sidney Turbyfill
State Representative Marc Boldt (R-Sifton) gets high marks for courage. At a time when most others are content to let The People go-it-alone in battling the incessant onslaught of the sexual "minority" political machine, the Representative's stand is encouraging. Outraged at the terminal arrogance that the U of W Regents exhibited last year when they announced their program of increased competition for married student housing by displacing married students with same-sex domestic partners, Rep. Boldt enlisted the support of Representatives Sherstad, Mulliken, Carrell, Sump, Thompson, Lambert, Mielke, Smith, McCune, Bush and Koster to stymie UW change agents' efforts with House Bill 2586, "prohibiting the state from granting domestic partner benefits."
Compare Rep. Boldt's courage to the Regents. When hearings were held in the House Law and Justice Committee in Olympia last Friday, January 30th, no UW Regents were in sight but they did send down two remarkably well-indoctrinated young students from their student government cheerleading section to lecture the legislators on their low regard for "the democratic process" at work at the University of Washington where the wisdom of the students themselves had already spoken -- they had voted overwhelmingly in favor of the Regents' policy of using other peoples' money (taxes) to subsidize ostensibly committed same-sex "couples" thereby defunding an equal number of married students [see earlier article, SAME-SEX "COUPLES" PUSH OUT MARRIEDS AT UW]. Thank you Regents for showing us your true strength of conviction -- hiding behind quasi-adults as it were.
WTV issued a news release in support of the representatives and HB 2586 the following Monday, the 2nd of February. Putting the actions of the Regents in perspective in denouncing them Bob Larimer stated, Make no mistake, the U of W policy is not about 'fairness' or 'equality' for homosexual couples. It is part of a continuing homosexual agenda which exploits our state's institutions - in this case educational institutions - by finessing policies which normalize and legitimize homosexuality.
Remembering the emphatic expression of the peoples' will in overwhelmingly defeating (60-40) Initiative 677 last November, he said, When elitists and social tinkerers are presented with the opportunity to fashion policies favoring homosexuality, without the consent of citizens, they do so. But when Washington state's voters are able to vote on homosexuality and public policy, they reject attempts to create special rights and recognition for groups based on claimed sexual behavior.
WTV PAC is calling for the legislature to show itself strong on this issue and pass HB 2586 into law. By doing so, you will prove out the words of President Andrew Johnson who said, Our government springs from and was made for the people-not the people for the Government. To them it owes allegiance; from them it must derive its courage, strength and wisdom. [first annual message to Congress, Dec. 4, 1865]
