PRO-HOMOSEXUAL ACTIVISTS' DIRE PREDICTIONS ON REFERENDUM VOTE A SHAM
Vancouver, WAReacting to news of a possible June, 1997 state-wide vote on a Referendum to ban homosexual
"marriage" in Washington state, pro-homosexual activists and organizations have been crying "foul" and complaining that such
an early vote would not allow citizens adequate time to consider this important issue (It would also not allow adequate time for
pro-homosexual special interests to raise millions of out-of-state dollars for slick public relations spots on television and
radio).
Washington for Traditional Values finds it ironic that a special interest distinguishable only by its own claimed sexual
behaviors has been perfectly content to remain conspicuously silent while an activist court decision in Hawaii has come very
near to forcing a radical redefinition of marriage and family on the citizens of Washington.
Now, facing the reality that most people will vote to preserve and defend the traditional understanding of marriage, special
interest activists suddenly find their voice and wish to "help" our voters in their understanding of why they should not resist
pro-homosexual special interests efforts to gain successive levels of manipulative political power.
In another shameless effort to hoodwink voters, pro-homosexual activists and lobbyists are making dire predictions that
"allowing" the people to vote on a Referendum will increase "violence" against homosexual people.
Taxpayers finance a yearly compilation by the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs called the "Hate and
Bias" incident report. The recently released report on January through June, 1996 (complete figures not available until
summer), reveals only 16 incidents motivated by "anti-homosexual bias." Furthermore, during a year of so-called
anti-homosexual Initiatives to the People, there were less than 50 incidents for the entire year. Pro-homosexual individuals and
groups should be ashamed of their dishonest representations to voters and taxpayers, and their arrogant, undemocratic efforts
to impose their narrow agenda on the people of Washington state.
