Kirkland—Last night, the Kitsap County Republican Central Committee endorsed the signature gathering campaign for the initiative to stop Partial-Birth Infanticide with a resolution to contribute $2500.00 to the effort! What a great testimony to the core values of Kitsap Republicans, said Washington for Traditional Values Coalition vice president Sidney Turbyfill. It's makes it pretty plain that the heart of the Republican Party, at least in Kitsap County, is courageous in defense of the most helpless of Americans.
Predicting that the Kitsap County action will reverberate with conservative leaders and citizens alike, Turbyfill stated that, A precedent has been set that other county Republican organizations should seriously contemplate following. After all, there is growing disenchantment with leadership at all levels in the party. The grassroots did most of the leading on the PBA Ban effort this past session. It's only natural that the true heart of the Party show itself strong on this issue for the initiative campaign as well.
The battle, in Washington state, over partial-birth infanticide is not a Democrat versus Republican versus American Heritage Party battle. No one organization can lay undisputed claim to the title, "Defender of the Unborn," Sid said, but they all ought to try. Is anything more obvious?
