DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT SUPPORTED
Vancouver, WAWashington for Traditional Values celebrates the passage of the Defense of Marriage Act, a reasonable
and responsible defense against the activist-finessed, same-sex "marriage" court case in Hawaii.
WTV also applauds the defeat of the so-called "Employment Non-Discrimination Act," which would have created a legally
recognized minority based solely on claims to homosexual behavior.
That Congress was even forced to address such issues is instructive and indicative of insistent political manipulation by
pro-homosexual special interests, and their fanatical determination to force their private practices into public policy.
WTV expresses its gratitude to Washington's Senators Slade Gorton and Patty Murray for their votes in favor of the Defense
of Marriage Act. We also extend our gratitude to Senator Gorton for wisely voting against a bill (ENDA) which was designed
specifically to create special rights for homosexuals, thereby giving minority status to a group which can only be defined by
claimed sexual behaviors.
It is to be hoped that Congress' action will send a strong signal to the court in Hawaii which is even now considering forcing a
new definition of marriage - to include homosexual couples - on the citizens of the state of Hawaii.
