WTV CELEBRATES NATIONAL COMING OUT OF HOMOSEXUALITY DAY
Vancouver, WA--Washington for Traditional Values (WTV) announces its participation in
the third annual National Coming Out Of Homosexuality Day celebration. Timed to
coincide with homosexual activists "National Coming Out Day," this event offers a clear
alternative to those who might otherwise believe that their preferences are permanent.
In a statement today, WTV Executive Director Bob Larimer noted:
Many involved in homosexual lifestyles believe that they are at the mercy of some genetic
destiny which has them locked into unhappy, high-risk sexual behaviors. Nothing could be
further from the truth.
Peddlers of junk science, special interest homosexual political groups and some
irresponsible news media have relentlessly trumpeted "gay gene" theories which have no
basis in scientific fact.
The November, 1995 issue of Scientific American, in an article entitled "Gay Genes,
Revisited," totally debunks the notion of a genetic predisposition toward homosexual
behaviors and exposes the fact that one widely touted gay gene proponent, Dean H.
Hamer, has been charged with research improprieties and has been under investigation by
the Federal Office of Research Integrity. The article concludes with the observation by
Evan S. Balaban, a neurobiologist at the Neurosciences Institute in San Diego, that of all
the claimed "discoveries" of genes linked to homosexuality, none have been confirmed.
Each year, more people who were trapped in homosexual lifestyles find help and
successfully walk away from their old behaviors. Courageous leaders such as Michael
Johnston, President of Kerusso Ministries, continue to inspire and help others escape
from homosexuality, just as Michael has.
Speaking directly to people who feel trapped in homosexuality Larimer said:
With all respect and compassion, I urge homosexual people: Dont listen to junk science.
Take advantage of todays opportunity to re-evaluate your commitment to your present
way of life. Dont become a victim of the preventable AIDS epidemic. Exercise your right
to choose to be free of homosexuality.
The best time to decide to change is now. Others have done it, and you can do it too!
Let this years National Coming Out of Homosexuality Day be an exciting new beginning
for you.
