SAME-SEX "COUPLES" PUSH OUT MARRIEDS AT UW
Vancouver, WA--In a tersely-worded statement early today, Chairman Robert R. Larimer, Jr., commenting on the University of Washington Regent's decision to reject legitimate married couples from the University's married student housing in order to give preference to same-sex couple-pretenders said:
The University of Washington's ill-advised arbitrary decision to award special housing privileges to homosexual "couples" is simply one more classic example of extending special rights to a victim-status-claiming grievance group.
Each time special rights are extended on the basis of claimed sexual preferences, citizens in Washington state lose their rights or are discriminated against in favor of well financed politically sophisticated special pleaders.
The recent decisive 60-40 statewide-vote against Initiative 677 demonstrates that the public is emphatically saying "Enough Is Enough!"
The Board of Regents should be ashamed of themselves for aping former Governor Mike Lowry and present Governor Gary Locke's embarrassing antics as yell leaders for a special rights glee squad. One would think that officials at an institution of higher learning would at least have the dignity and common sense to resist special interest demands that they deny biological and physiological realities and confer official government recognition and copycat marital status on those who indulge in same-sex activities.
WTV declares that the University of Washington would do well to ignore vocal special interests and honor the will of the people expressed in the resounding defeat of Initiative 677 and in the Legislature's passage of the Defense of Marriage Act.
