Gyaltshen Rinpoche Poster

Khenchen Konchog Gyaltshen Rinpoche's visit to Portland Sakya Center comes after a long wait. He had been a regular guest of the center until his health, weakened by a demanding international schedule of teaching throughout the world, gave out forcing him into an extended time of recovery and spiritual retreat.

Ani Gilda Paldrön first met Khenchen Rinpoche in 1981, while she was living in Los Altos, CA. At that time, Ani was assisting with a Karmapa center in the area and Khenchen came from India to join visiting teacher. A connection was formed between Ani Gilda and Khenchen Rinpoche and she has regarded him not only as a dear friend, but a primary teacher of her own practice. His guidance has been invaluable during her seventeen years as a teacher of western students, as she has drawn upon Khenchen Rinpoche's own experience teaching westerners and in creating a major center of the Drikung Kagyu tradition in Silver Springs, Maryland. The Portland Sakya Center had the privilege of hosting His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche, the lineage throne holder

Khenchen Rinpoche continues to have limited energy and tires quickly. Because of this, he will be unable to grant interviews, nor give refuge ordination. Ani Gilda will be giving the ordination of refuge at a later time.

A text will be supplied containing the poems and Guru Yoga.
