Jim's practice includes trust and estate planning and administration, guardianship,
related real estate matters, and civil litigation. Jim practiced in New York
with Horenstein, Josepher & Gewanter, P.C, and also served as Senior Attorney
for the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal. Jim relocated
to Seattle in 2001, and comes to Simburg Ketter from Reed, Longyear, Malnati,
Ahrens & West, PLLC in Seattle, where he was an associate attorney from 2001
to 2005, and a Member from 2006 to 2009. Jim's significant cases include Paul
Argento v. DHCR, 269 A.D.2d 443, 702 N.Y.S.2d 899 (2nd Dept., 2000), Incorporated
Village of Cedarhurst v. Hanover Insurance Co., 233 A.D.2d 507, 636 N.Y.S.2d
390 (2nd Dept., 1995), aff'd 89 N.Y.2d 293, 653 N.Y.S.2d 68 (1996), and
Fidelity Mort. Corp. v. Seattle Times Co., 131 Wash.App. 462, 128 P.3d
621 (2005).
Jim serves as Adjunct Faculty for the University of Phoenix, at Tukwila, and
has chaired the Annual King County Bar Association Real Estate Law Seminar.
Jim volunteers his time as the Co-Chair of Greenwood Streetscapes, a local
community organization seeking to provide sidewalk, right of way improvements
and drainage alternatives to the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle. In his
spare time Jim enjoys sailing, baseball and basketball.
