Mark has many years of experience counseling business clients large and small on a wide range of matters, including mergers & acquisitions, federal and state securities matters, trademark, copyright and licensing issues, and general matters. Mark graduated from Brown University and the University of Virginia with degrees in mathematics. After working as a computer programmer and actuary for three years, he attended New York University School of Law, from which he graduated in 1982. He worked at Battle Fowler in New York City (now the New York office the multinational law firm Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP) and Cummings & Lockwood in Stamford, Connecticut for several years, working principally on mergers and acquisitions, private and public securities offerings, and intellectual property work (trademarks, copyrights, software and licensing). After moving his practice to Seattle in 1996, Mark joined one of his growing clients as in house general counsel; his role there grew to include responsibility for all administrative functions, and many of the functions of a COO, providing Mark with great practical experience in the management of a vibrant young company.
In his leisure time, Mark is an enthusiastic amateur astronomer and astrophotographer, when Seattle's weather allows. You can see his work at http://www.de-regt.com/Astronomy
